Ya know, I'd say, try another harddrive. But then again, what do I know.

Hey Guys,

@Justin, I'm sorry this thread was left unattended for so long.

Can you please reset your CMOS for us, and see if it will allow your BIOS to reset, and recognize the HDD.

You seem to be very thorough, so I am assuming that you have checked the Mobo for signs of damage.

I will PM the Hardware gurus to come take a look and see if there is anything that we are overlooking as well.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

Resettting the CMOS may work-- but I would almost suspect a bad BIOS chip here-- he said he's tried :
different boards
several cables
used that drive in another PC
all worked in the other-- but not this one
The odds of all that working in the other PC-- and not this one point to a mobo problem.
If resetting the BIOS/CMOS doe not work in this-- I'm afarid it's time for the scrap pile for that board. You can have a new Bios chip installed-- but why bother on an older board ?

I dont curently know much about the CMOS. Once i herd that removing the battery will reset somthing. But that might not be the proper way. So If you might tell me how to reset it, that wuild be graet. THANKS alot for responding, I to sort of forgot that i had posted this thread.

Then I guess we're here to remind you Justin, lol.

Yes removing the battery will reset your CMOS. I would also recommend changing the battery at the same time. Something you probably haven't done in some time. (They are very inexpensive).
