Default Chip Board Fan problem.

I have an Asus A8N-E

When I booted up I got the message ***Chip Fan fail or speed too low***

I opened up my PC and the little fan on the MB was not spinning. After a bit of dust cleaning I got it spinning again but it gets extremely hot, I have burned my finger a few times! I don't get it, it is spinning so why is it so hot?

Asus Probe is telling be that it is 40 degrees celcius but I think it's more. I don't know what is under the fan but the fan gets so hot so fast, I am starting to wonder whether I should have it plugged in....

I can't remember where I bought it nor to I have any reciepts so I cant get a repair on my warranty.

I was going to remove the fan to have a closer look but then I would have to take my motherboard out completely to undo the black plug things keeping it in place..

I tried to contact Asus online but the form is ridiculous, it wont let me ask a question without telling everything about my specs when all I want to say is "can you send me a new fan" and yes I have registered my Motherboard. If anyone knows a simple way of contacting them online, let me know.

You are going to have to fill the form at Asus in completely if you want to get a new fan from them.

The other alternative is to either take your computer into a repair shop for them to fix it, or supply you with neccessary parts so you can do it, both methods will cost you money...

I just filled N/A in all the bullsh*t questions, why do they need to know about my processor and RAM etc when I just want to ask about my motherboard, which requires me to answer more questions like revision number and bios number.

I recently got a new Video Card fan from XFX and their service was a lot better.

Yeah sorry fellas, I am going to ring around local stores tomorrow and ask about motherboard fans

Are most fans to same size or should I give a size. Mine looks like a 20mm but I really don't know..
