Default in desperate need of real help guys (booting probs)

Right well i have posted on here before about my booting probs but didnt get much help, i really really would be sooooo greatful if i could end this with some help from the real pro's....... the problem is, usually when i turn on my pc it automatically turns on my monitor, then i get a nice beep to say hd present, then the splash screen and life is all great, but now i turn it on and i get whirling fans, and...... nothing no beep,no not even my monitor comes on (by the way the monitor is working fine when i connect it to my laptop)
my system is a p3 running at 855mhz with a hd capacity of 200gb (one 120gb and one 80gb)

now i have been told to try taking out the battery from my mb and see if that works (it didnt)

was told to take out the p3 and put back in (didnt work)

was told it may be a virus (how would i kno if it is?)

havent tried taking out the memory from the mb yet tho (any thoughts?)

listen guys i really feel lucky to even have a resource like this and be able to ask someone what to do, i hope you can help.

i can supply you with ant further info or if you like i can send pics of the pc and mb etc.

please please please Help!

Hi super_sharringan, i apologise that you didn't recieve much help with your previous problems from us.

From the description of the problem - it sounds like your Power Supply is dead...

I don't know who told you it was a virus...it's extremly unlikely and almost improbable.

Nope...there may be a couple of failed parts- but the PSU is the easiest to change.

It could very well be the motherboard as well....however, i doubt this...

Can you tell me - when you turn the computer on, what do the fans do? Do they spin constantly? or stop spinning after a couple of seconds?

Ok...Before we rule anything further out...try this.

remove the memory, get a soft tipped eraser and rub the connectors of the memory...reinsert them, and pull out all the expansion cards (video card, etc) and do the same thing.

See if this helps at all...sounds silly but it solves alot of problems
