Unhappy bootup problem, need thoughts

Not to seem like a *** for having just joined PCHF only so I might write about my own problems but...

Christmas morning, the psu in my computer fried.

I just got in a replacement today.

I've popped it in, reconnected everything, started it up, an everything begins whirring an spinning like normal. I get the typical one beep test, an then nothing.

Nothing on the screen. Can't access CMOS. Nothing.

Although I have been studying to become PC support, I still lack alot of real work experience, so I need to hear what other techies think this could be....

I've got absolutely no video, I've tested the graphic card and monitor on seperate computers (which work fine). Nothing happens after the beep. It would seem it ran POST because it would give me errors if I unplug the video or memory etc. I've switched out the HDD with another as well to make sure it wasn't that, with no difference in the outcome.

I've got a gut feeling something on the motherboard got fried along with the powersupply.... please tell me your thoughts.

Welcome to PCHF cadekun!

It seems as though it may have effected something else. Please confirm that all cables are seated properly etc.

hmm dunno what it was but today it works

i sat down with it, unplugged and replugged everything back together. Works fine now.

Well fine except for some odd glitch with my graphic card. I had a Radeon X800pro in there. Now I can't start XP without the computer resetting on me during bootup. So I switched out the card for my Nvidia Geforce 6600 which I have laying around as a backup. No problems whatsoever.

Obviously something to do with the power required by the Radeon is making the thing restart... could be a borked card itself, but sadly I don't have any friends with PCIe motherboards to test it out on.
