Of course. Yep the LED on the motherboard is fine, with the Dell's, it just means the the mb is receiving power. I do think we have found the cause to your problems though.
The good news is that your system still has 90 days warranty left, which means that you could call in a fault and they will replace the faulty switch within a few days. Their support is really good.
