Default Motherboard Molex, and Front panel jumpers

I was wondering why my motherboard has a molex connector direct smack in the middle of it. I was wondering if it was important... The manual just says "depending on computer configuration"
check pic of motherboard...

Also, I was hoping that someone could point to a good guide on how to install front panel jumpers, and tell me which one(s), if plugged in wrong could damage my system, and what part of the system...

Hi deranjer!
My welcome to PC Helpforum!

What molex connector are you talking about? I don't see any?

The front panel jumpers are to be connected as stated in your mainboard manual. You probably won't damage much, but there's probably an easy instruction in your manual.

The molex connector is labled "Additional Power connector" right above a PCI-E x1 x1 slots... my best guess is that it is a place to hook extra peripherals to, but it might be important.

As for the mainboard manual, it helps, but it says it has to be plugged in right, positive and negative wise, but it doesn't tell you how to tell what is the negative, and what is the positive.
Also, the manual is full of warnings for the Front USB, Firewire, and SPDIF connections... it says plugging them in wrong could "make the device not work" Granted, these aren't things essential for booting up, but I was wondering if I could hurt my system by plugging them in wrong...I guess I don't care too much about my Front USB cord too much...

Update: Well, just booted up my computer, and everything seems to work alright... except for my HDD light... it doesn't work... I guess Ill have to go back in a fiddle around w/ it...

Update: Well, standby doesn't work either....
