Default No Video on Boot.. Tried spare PCI and AGP cards..

Hey all,

got 2 similar problems..

I have just put an Old Slot 1 PC together, and i am getting no video on boot at all.. I have tried 3 graphics cards, and i have tried them in a few other computers to make sure they work and i stilll get no video.. I have even tried it with an old PCI graphics card.. This mobo doesnt have onboard.. I am not getting any system beeps and i have tried 3 processors on it..
also, a mate of mine has a ASRock Mobo with a 7600GT and his video is not working at all, i didnt get to test the PCI-E card he had cause i didnt have a spare or a pci-e mobo, but i tried the onboard video and using a PCI graphics card and neither worked.. i have tried clearing the CMOS as a last resort and still nothing...

sorry for writing so much...

Cheers

Sorry for the late response...
have you checked your mobo "standoffs"-- no contact to metal case ? Probably not-- but I have heard of it.
I'm thinking the mobo is toast... was it running or sitting in a box somewhere?

you can try cleaning the slots in the mobo-- if it was sitting a long time tarnish sets in... but I don't think there's much hope... especially since you tried the same parts elsewhere and they worked there. If you've got the time to clean the contacts you have naught to lose, eh?
The only way to be absolutely certain I know of would involve a shop/electrical testing of the mobo.
For what that would cost you could probably upgrade and be done.
