This is a very good motherboard (spec wise), but personally, if your not gaming, then I would look for a lower spec motherboard of better quality. ASUS in my opinion are one of the best motherboards you can buy. I have had some bad experiences with MSI in the past, and don't think they are a particularly good manufacturer. Also bear in mind that your current processor will not work in this motherboard, so you will need to buy a new processor also.

On the processor socket on the motherboard, it should show which socket it is. Is it socket A?

Not a bad pick, but doesn't give you any room for expandability. You won't be able to expand your processor at a later date with this motherboard, you'll be stuck with Celeron!

Also another point that just hit me, but I thought I'd better mention it. You may already be aware, but you may also need to reinstall your OS after upgrading, depending on how different your old and new motherboards are.

i dont have a problem reinstalling the os. i figured i would have to but i wasnt 100%.

as long as i can get a faster celeron then thats ok. i dont mind sticking with celeron for a while. right now i am on a really tight budget but i use my computer a lot. i need to get a new MB before this one dies. is $70 shipped too much for the last one i linked to?

also, i found some numbers and things on my proccessor socket.

there was a D by itself
there was also mPGA478B
and then quite a bit smaller it said ARPGF45<
