Default Newly built system wont POST

Hello, I just bought a new system from newegg.com.

I bought the following parts:
Biostar TForce4 AM2 ATX
2 GB (2x1) OCZ ddr2800 (PC6400)
Sapphire X850XT 256 mg
AMD socket AM2 Athlon 64 3500+ Orleans
Xion XON-400X (400 Watt PSU)

I am also using the following:
Two hard drives that I know work
Two DVD drives that I know work

When I turn the power on, all the fans start up and lights come on on the motherboard, but there system does not make the post beep and i do not get any video.

I have removed the ram and i get a series of beeps, which according to the manual says the mobo cant detect the ram.

There are two LED indicators, according to the manual there is a VGA error.

Is it safe to say that the videocard was doa? I need to know what parts are faulty before i can send them back.

Hi Diazigy,

Welcome to The PCHF,
I have seen systems that won't POST because of a faulty VGA card, but, it would be a good idea to rule out all the other parts. If you have access or can borrow another vga card try that first.
If that works, it could be the VGA card only, but to be sure try unplugging all the drives and any other cards from the board and add them back one at a time to see if anything else affects the POST.
Let us know how you do

Default I dont know anyone with a pci express x16 videocard

I dont know anyone with a pci express x16 videocard so I cannot test my videocard.

When I turn on the power with just a "vanilla" setup, (only cpu, ram, and videocard installed) I do not get any POST beep nor any video signal.

I have tested both sticks of ram individually, and each time I do not get a POST beep, so unless I recieved two faulty sticks of ram I do not think the ram is faulty.

When I remove both sticks of ram, I get a series of beeps that indicate there is a ram error, this leads me to believe that the mobo is in fact recognizing the ram and the ram is not faulty.

So if my ram is not faulty, that leaves the possibility of my videocard or cpu being faulty. As I said in my first post, the motherboard LED indicators say there is a VGA error. Could this be caused by my CPU or Videocard?

I have built several PCs over the years, but I have never encounterd a problem such as this. Is my logic correct in suspecting my videocard is bad without being to actually test it?

Also, I have tried resetting the CMOS by setting the jumper to pins 2-3 w/ the power off and waiting 5 seconds to no avail.

@Shawn1, know what you mean bud, and, it takes ages to bend the pins back again.
@Daizigy, It's looking more like just the VGA card, if the mobo is picking up that the memory not there, generally means that the problem is more than likely elsewhere, which in this case is the VGA card.
It should still be under warranty so try getting it changed.
Sorry not to be the bearer of better news, keep us updated.

Default Borrowed a VGA card

OK, so I "borrowed" a cheap pci express x16 videocard from circuit city and I still did not get a POST beep or any video signal.

So if its not my video card or ram that is causing the problem, that leaves the motherboard and cpu.

I think im just going to send the mobo back and get a new one.

Can you guys think of anything I am overlooking?
