Default Cpu And Mb Help Needed

hi there im new here and need help

, i just bought a new motherboard ( Gigabyte nForce 430 S939 PCIE MATX DUAL CH DDR400X4 TV OUT ) and CPU ( AMD 64 3700+ ) and everything looks to be connected correctly but when i switch it on nothing seems to happen, im just wondering if my PSU isnt powerfull enough as its 300W only, could this be the case or is it something else u think ? i mean the PSU says it supperts AMD but mind u my last CPU was only 32bit and the motherboard was really old so hmm ? im just hoping its not the parts that i orderd thats the problem...

any advice would be great thanks

i have 2 hdd 1 thats 80 gig and another at 160gig
2 ram cards are installed at the moment a 512 and a 256
theres a dual layer dvd writer and a standard cd player
and a 3 1/2" floppy drive

also something i noticed was that the psu socket on the MB was 24 pin but my psu was only 20 , not sure if that would be the problem ? i mean nothing happens atol when i try switch it on the fans dont start or anything , the only thing i hear is the PSU power down when i switch it off, its like a little sqeual sound for a second

What about the graphics card?

Also, yes that pin issue could be a problem - you may need to purchase one of THESE
