Default Boot Agent/BIOS Problem

I am using Windows XP Pro, Srv Pk 2, and Intell BIOS version 4.10.6. Now, when I re-boot, I get a message with a Client MAC Address and GUID, followed by DHCP.....\ The "\" keeps rotating for at least 1 minute, followed by a message "Exiting Boot Intel Agent." The machine finally boots.

Why is it looking for the Boot Intel Agent? Is it necessary? If not, how would I disable it? Also, I use cable modem, so I'm not sure what the "DHCP \" is doing.

Any suggestions for a clean boot up? Am I about to have real problems?
Thanks,
Roberta

Default Bios

Hi Evanro,
Welcome to the PCHF.
I think what you are describing is your BIOS looking to boot from the network.
Check in the BIOS that your boot priority is set to your Hard drive and not to the newtork.
Please let us know what Board you have so I can give you more detailed instructions.
