Default CPU Install

Hi, Wheni installed the cpu, on my new motherboard, i was pushing the heat sink in to the motherboard with the four prongs, that go in the wholes. The motherboard tended to make tiny light sounded creeks while i did it. Is that always normal. I spose, cause it need all the surface area it can to make sure the cpu can cool, so it needs to be a tight close fit
am i right.

Yup , it needs to be tight on there. And a little bit of cracking sound is normal but just a tiny bit. Always be carefull not to damage the modo and and use as less force as possible.

Do you have it up and running already?

As long as you had the thermal compound and seated the heatsink well you are in a good shape. Manufacturers sure do know what is going to happen there so boards are designed to handle it.
