A week ago my PSU shorted and sparked. I bought a new one (Coolermaster) but there was no power to the motherboard. I bought a new motherboard and still I have no power to the motherboard. No fans, nothing. The CPU looks fine, I was convinced it was the motherboard but obviously not.

Any ideas before I spend any more unnecessary money?

Unfortunately, hardware is not my area of expertise, however, I can see some questions, which your answers to, will help the hardware gurus to help you.

Can you please post the exact specs of your PC, including PSU?

Can you please verify that all cables are connected correctly and everything is seated properly?

Do you get ANY response when you attempt to turn on the computer? Clicks, beeps, anything?

We can answer this kind of easily so to speak. When you try to turn on the PSU does the fan on it rotate? If not your PSu is dead. As for the CPU the psu will still turn on without it just nothing else.
