Default [Answered] Too many removable devices

Ok - I could use some help. I have a ASROCK K7GX Motherboard, AMD Duron 1200 CPU, and am running W2K. The problem is that My Computer says I have more storage devices on my computer than I actually do.

What it is, is a Mat****a DVD-RAM. Device Manager has two entries for it in the disk drives section, one entry for the same device in the DVD/CD ROM section. My Computer shows the same item as a CD-ROM, and adds that there are two removable stroage devices on drives G and H.

I have one floppy, two hard drives (C and D respectively), the Mat****a as drive E, and another DVD-ROM for drive F. G and H don't exist.

Why is this and how do I fix it?

Hello and welcome to PCHF,

Hmmm phanton drives hey :undecided

Would you be able to take a screenshot whilst viewing `My Computer` so that we can see the drives and then post onto the forum.

Also could you right click on drive G and H and see what options it shows, e.g. delete/view.
