But is it ok that i have the cd rw and hd both on the same channel. I will in the futur change to a sata hd, but i dont have the cash. also, will windows xp allow me to do so as it is really fussy about hardware changes. Thanks mate...Granto1000

If you do upgrade to a SATA drive then the best course of action would be a fresh install of XP.
