Default [FIXED] - IDE 2

I recently formated my hard drive and reloaded windows. But I had to plug my cd-rom into IDE 1 because it would not see it on 2. After I loaded windows it still does not see IDE 2. Is there a driver or something I can load in? I Thought that was on the bios??

Whan you say it doesn't see IDE2 - are you saying it isn't listed in the Device Manager in Windows? What does your bios say?

When your CD rom is plugged into IDE2 have you set the jumper on the back to master - similarly, when you have it connected to IDE1 is it set as slave?

The easiest thing I have ever leanred is when you get drive wheter it be hd's or cd/dvd drives is to take those jumpers right out of there. That why there cable select. And then you will not have any problems with drives if you do that!

Thanks for the help. I found that my problem was in the bios. I had to scroll with the space bar to select different options. HUH!!
