Question [Answered] Processor - Good Enough?

Hi there, I'm just wondering if AMD Athlon 1.25GHZ is good enough in this world of increasing specs? I've got a 1GB Ram, 160 GB HD, ATI Radeon 9200 256MB graphics card. Those are all fine for this now but it's just my processor which is worrying me. Would you recommend moving to AMD Athlon 2Ghz+? If so can you specify which processor and even possibly give me a link to somewhere I can buy one?

Cheers,
Paul

Default Processor - Good Enough?

Hi there!

Your system isn't bad really. The only thing letting you down is actually the CPU. What motherboard have you got ? If you don't know the exact make/model, go here http://www.pchelpforum.com/modules.p...iewtopic&t=225 and run the program

its a waste when you got enuff juice on your comp but not enuff cpu power.. you;d probably want to upgrade to a atholon 64 bit, how much did your 9200 256 ram video card costs you?

is a 64 bit worth it yet tho? I didn't think xp supported it.... and longhorn is well off still and processors will be past 64 when it comes out

Just found out 64 bit windows will be out hopefully by the end of this year, but no one still knows when. You can get a beta version. But do you really need this yet? I'd stick to 32 till longhorn.... Then you'll need the capability of huge amounts of memory and stuff
