Default HDMI cable to tv

Hi, just wondering if a thin cheap hdmi cable (bought for 3 pound) might damage a tv if used to connect the tv to the pc. (using it as a monitor to show my desktop) Only because my tv screen has malfuctioned whilst using it as a monitor, but i think its probably just the tv. The screen froze, bleached and now slowly goes multi coloured. I'm getting a new telly anyway but should I buy a more expensive thicker HDMI cable? A monster cable or whatever. Or does it not really matter? I'm pretty sure i used the correct resolution if that makes any difference!

Did you mean ¾ or £3.00 - £4.00 as it''s a bit confusing what you mean.

I use a dvi / hdmi cable to connect my computer to my LCD tv. I have had no problems with the correct default screen resolution of 1360 x 768 x 60...

Oh right, at that price you can get one to try out if it's no good buy a more expensive one.

I have only purchased cheap ones myself, $20.00 for the ones I get from my local computer shop. The same brand is selling for $100.00 in the main tv appliance stores.

DVI to HDMi Cables are about $25.00 here...
