Default Monitor not coming back on from standby

Heya all, I just recently started having this problem with my monitor, well one of them. I'm running duel display 19" dell, 22" acer. Now my problem is that sometimes (not all the time) after my monitors come back from stand-by my dell dose not come back on. The only way for me to get it to come back on is to log off my user (or switch users) and log back on. I'm currently running the newest Nvidia drivers and i have the duel monitor configured with Nvidia control panel The acer is the primary display and the dell is the extended one. If you have any clues as to what would be causing thing please let me know. Also bot monitors are DVI if that helps at all

The actual reason behind this is hibernation/standby is that it is an OS/CMOS code not a powersupply code, but basically it cuts the power down to the devices. So when the psu has to kick back in its got to send a surg out much like when the computer is first turned on. So of course with a going bad psu its having trouble doing this. this is a major reason behind black screen these days. Generally you wont get a post code / beep, unless its a cpu / mobo issue.

np, for the mean time i would just manually turn your screen off. I dont use hibernation personaly and i dont usualy turn my computer off at all. My computer stays on generally 24/7 and most of the time. i had cheapy psu last up to 3-4 years... i can spend another 40 bucks on a cheap 450watt psu to keep my pc running. The reason why i do, is i dont sleep lol... But if you are going to turn your system off i only recommend doing so when your going to keep it off for a long period of time such as sleep, vaction, out to dinner, ect. like said before everytime your computer turns on or comes out of this hypnosis state your psu has to run at 100% full power before it levels out and thats actually bad for a psu and causes damage and wear over time, but there isnt much you can do about it.

People will fight me for this one im sure but, i have seen more computer psu die becasue people cosntantly turning on and off their system, i generaly do a near system build or a heavy upgrage every 3 years depending on what technology goes obsolete, (this includes updating my psu every 3 years as well if needed for the new parts) and i may have replaced a psu 2 or 3 times in the past 10 years from a failing psu. so the math is up to you.

Yeah, I generally never turn on my computer, right not just have it set up for the monitors to sleep, not the computer, but tonight when I get home ill turn that off and manually do it from now on. My PSU is about 4 years old so I figure ill need to replace soon, and with the system I'm going to build ill need a more powerful one any how, lets just hope that this PSU last till Feb. =)
