Hello,
I've read the first page on the forum here. It sounds like I am not alone on this monitor black out problem. I've dealt with computers for some time now, re-installing drivers/hd's etc, when they crash, designing websites, and other things with computers. However, I have yet to build one from the ground up or replace a part. Not concerned, HOWEVER, I think its time.
Anyways, I have a Hewlitt Packard, (To be honest, dunno the model off the top of my head). I bought the computer from my grandmother about 6months ago, its ran flawless, then upon fire up the other morning. The computer screen FROZE on the windows screen. I was like ok, and against my better judgement I left the computer. Came back, and it had went from not just FROZEN but FROZEN and PIXELATED. I turned off the computer via the power strip. Upon fire up this time, the screen would not turn on what so ever. Rather aggrivating.
I started with the easiest fix by trying that monitor on another computer. The monitor works fine.
Do you think this could happen to be a bad graphics card???
