Monitors - PC comes on, but monitor remains black posted in the Hardware forums; sadly no, but i think it might be a problem with the power supply...

This may not be a cable issue.

Could you power off the computer and open her up.

Locate the BIOS battery near the battery should be 4 pins two will have a plastic jumper on.Remove jumper onto the empty pins for two minutes.Then replace on origonal two.

Or similar remove BIOS battery for two mins replace reboot.

I also asume the BIOS battery could be old and needs replacing.

I had a problem like this but i found my graphics card had died

i tried removing and putting the BIOS battery back in, i don't think it's shot, the computer is only a few years old

Bios batteries should be replaced every two years.

Or before that if they become damaged,maybe due to a power outtage this can kill a battery but not always.

Is the computer actualy powering on?Can you here the fans spin up?

Are any lights on for example the front of the computer?

yes, both fans spin, the LED light for the power comes on, it acts perfectly normal except the monitor is a ***
