Unhappy Monitor problem - taking AGES to come on!

Hi

I hope you can help. I have a packard bell 1509 PC with a 19" Monitor. Recently when I switch the PC on it can take as long as 20 minutes for the monitor to show anything. The green light on the monitor flashes but no picture.

I have tried disconnecting the monitor and turning PC on. The message No Signal appears straight away so I assume the monitor is OK.

I have tried changing the PCI graphics card but the problem remains.

When the monitor eventually comes on it is fine but it is frustrating slow getting there.

Can anyone please suggest the next place for me to look.
Thanks in advance
Nessie

Change the VGA cable and see if that makes a difference.

The only other possibility is that the monitor might be on the way out as well, might be new LCD monitor time...

Hi
Thanks for that. Tried that and no change. I then borrowed a monitor and everything worked so I have had to bite the bullet and buy a new monitor!

Cheers
