Question LCD TV reviews ?

Where is the good source for on line TV buying?

I plan to buy a new TV for my new home. I am confused whether to buy lcd tv or plasma tv, which to buy ? I have surf various sites on the web & I find one site for TV reviews where all TV reviews are there. Still I want to compare the prices with other sources.

Do you know any good sources for on line TV buying?

Hey Guys,

@ Daniel,

My welcome to the forums as well. I think what you will find is that the best prices are going to be in the stores on flat screen TVs. It is important to do your research, so you know the pros and cons of both plasma and LCD, size, how you want to mount it. Capabilities etc. Here is a good article about making some of those decisions,So You Want a Big Screen TV - Comparing Today's TV Technology, I would also recommend checking out Consumer Reports for their recommendation.

But when it comes to the actual purchase, there are several things in favor of purchasing at a local retailer instead of online.
  1. If there is a problem, you can take it back
  2. You can usually negotiate pricing on last years models
  3. You can keep an eye out for open box pricing, and special sales.
  4. You don't have to add shipping costs
  5. If there is a problem, you don't have to pay to ship it to be fixed.
Both Best Buy and CostCo have excellent prices on a regular basis, with extended warranties that for something like a big screen are definitely worth the extra money. The real trick is knowing pretty much what you are looking for before you get there, and then be a little bit flexible.

Post back and let us know what you end up with, while we're a big PC community, there are those of us who like our Telly too.
