Just would like to know if it okay to keep my monitor on all the time even after turning off my system. I purchased a monitor and was told it is okay to keep monitor on all the time.

If you keep your monitor on, it will still use some power. Though not much, this is potentially a fire hazard, and will certainly not do any good to anything. To ensure a long life of the monitor and power supply I would recommend to turn it off at night or whenever you aren't using it. It might not do any harm to leave it on, but it's always better to switch off appliances when they aren't in use.

thanks for the information. The technician I go to, keeps his monitors on all time and he said it was okay to do this. since i had otherwise i thought I would check it out here.

You shouldn't leave it on for too long, or you will more than likely get monitor burn in from a 'no signal' message, or similar. That said, if your monitor doesn't display a message this problem will likely be eliminated.
