Hey Perc, there are two possibilities:
1) As I mentioned, if there is not enough battery power to start a post test. At this point, depending on the laptop, it will shut down just like that!
2) If your absolutely certain that the battery is OK, the only other thing it could be is the motherboard or
CPU. I can't see any other test than to actually try a different
CPU, or taking the
CPU to a repair shop for testing. Was the heatsink and cooler connected up properly at the time? If so, it's more likely to be the motherboard. With everything you have told me, it would cost you as much to replace all the faulty components, motherboard, power supply etc, than it would to buy a completely new laptop. You did say you might of fried something putting the laptop back together?
