Default no monitor since mem upgrade

hi all, i recenty changed the ram on my pc 125 to a 512, made sure i used the correct ram for the motherboard but as soon as i started up there was no monitor signal. i shut down an put the old ram back in but same problem when i started up, the pc starts up and i can hear the hard drive working but the monitor just stays in stand by mode. ive tried a new video card but with no luck ive also tried cleaning the ram and vid card and removing the battery on the motherboard to reset but im all out of ideas now can anyone help?

Hi ashrey - Welcome to PCHF!

Try clearing CMOS to see that helps the problem.

To do this you will need to check your motherboard manual for the location of the jumpers. Unplug the power cable. Move the jumper to the clear cmos position, then put it back the way it was. If this doesn't work or your don't have your manual try removing the motherboard battery for a minute or so and replacing it.

Please post back if this doesn't help.

It looks like your motherboard may have been damaged by the new ram and you will probably need to get a new one.

If you can give a little more information about your pc we may can help you with this.
