Hello 7, welcome to PCHF.

Does you PC normally beep once when you switch it on? and if so, does it still beep now?

What is the make and model of your PC?

well its just a comp i built ,it got an AOpen AX33 mobo(i think thats the model #),20GB HD 310MB ram, and no their is no click other than when the monitor light goes from green to yellow, i did notice however the tiny green LED light on the bottom of the HD does come on for a few seconds but then goes out, almost as if its trying to boot up but then shuts down, also is there anyway to test to see if a motherboard is fried or not?

Well, the most informative feature when diagnosing motherboard problems is the onboard PC Speaker, so it's important that you make sure this is connected. If any problems are encountered during the initial post, then it will give you a number of beep indicating where the problem lyes, graphics card, memory etc. You can then use the same feature to diagnose the problem further until you hear a single PC beep to indicate a normal post operation.

it has no speaker, but the mobo does have a place to plug 1 in (glad i got literally 100`s of desktop speakers ,i can tear 1 apart lol) it also has onboard graphic`s card, damn i think i just answered my own problem, i installed an old card for monitor but this mobo has an on board monitor plugin, i`ll try plugging into that ,and IF i can get to the BIOS i`ll chek to see if if set for a card or for the onboard monitor, will keep ya updated on what i find out, will also hook up a speaker to see if i get the system beep
