ok this is my secondry workstation and just need it up and running cosa its really bugging me, My experiance so far is A+ certification so have knowledge of pc's the subject is a compaq presario sr1000 1619uk if you want to check specs, ive updated it a lil with 550 psu,7600 gt vga card, 2 x 1g of ddr1 ram. the problem is it was all running fine for like a year or so, then i built a new computer that worked fine now just wanting this 1 working. problem is its not receiving signal on the monitor the screen keeps going into power save mode. things i have done? reseated vga,checked the dvi connectors/pins i know that the vga works 100% coz i tried it in my other pc. the issue which im thinking of is the motherboard but the fan spins on the vga card plus it finds the card but then loses signal somehow and goes into power saving mode. it has onboard vga but it does the same for that plus i completly removed the driver using radeon complete driver removal. keypoints are that the screen is black and theres no writing what so ever. the vga card does not have an additional 4 pin molex to power it so it is self powered through board any feedback will be wicked

Does this computer boot up at all or is the monitor constantly blank?

If it is constantly blank, have you tried swapping out the monitor?

yes mate i have and the same on both monitors

1. Can you boot into Windows at all?

2. Can you enter BIOS?

3. Can you boot into the Safe mode?

No No And No Mate The Computer Wont Show Nothing Its Finds Signal After Turnin The Pc On On The Graphics Card As The Onboard But Then Just Flicks Off And Does Nothing. The Only Thing Which Is Strange Is The Card Still Spins Which Means Theres Still Power Getting To It. ( And It Doesnt Have The 4 Pin Molex)

Hi,ok not sure if this will work at all but worth a try?Open up pc while powered off remove BIOS battery for one minute replace reboot this will reset BIOS.

Does your motherboard have a DB-15 connector for the monitor?
If so, try connecting the monitor to it instead of via the graphics card.
