Hello, you could test another card or is there another slot on mainboard to move your GPU to to test it?If it boots up fine and you get a picture on your monitor then it is the slot causing the problem.

Maybe a damaged mother board?

This may sound strange but if you look very very close to the screen is there any slight image there?

Did you read the Leos link I posted? To be honest I do not know what to sugest? So here is my crazy ideas lol.

I know you cannot see anything on the monitor ok but have you tried hitting f8 repeatedly on startup?I know it dont sound right but By chance you may get the option menu not on screen of course but a bit of up and down arrow keys and by chance you may hit safe mode or last know good conf.Or if you have recovery console installed try press I think it is F10 or F11?

I would even push as far as saying a reformat if by chance the CD/DVD rom was still set to first boot?

Are you sure there is no damge done the the actual card were the cable pushes into the back of the GPU?Or can you see any obstruction in the slot? Are you sure it is pushed fully in?Is the slot slightly loose?

It could be your computer. The most common abnormal reason for a black screen is probably a computer crash. Given that it's consistently 5 to 15 minutes after boot up, I'd be looking at possible overheating, or perhaps a power supply that's going out. One simple way to determine if it's just the monitor going out or the computer crashing is to play some audio on your computer. Perhaps load up a longish mp3 play list, for example. If the monitor goes black, but the music continues to play, you know that the computer is running, and that the problem is either the videocard video drivers, the monitor or the cables in between.

I know it sounds crazy but it could point to pc being ok?

Have you changed monitor cables?

It could be a virus, or your computer's other software or drivers. Unfortunately bad drivers for any hardware on your system can cause the machine to crash or go to a black screen without warning. I've also heard of this as a symptom of a virus (though typically a poorly written one). It's more common that you'll actually get a message, or the dreaded "blue screen of death", but nonetheless, it's still possible that bad software, particularly hardwaew drivers, could cause it. As always, make sure your computer is up to date on Windows, and of course anti-spyware and anti-virus software as well.

Ok add a last crazy idea how about putting a diffrent HDD in there and see if you can get post screen?
