I had to send my monitor back and get a new one because it stopped working, and when I plugged it in it won't automatically install like it usually would. How can I get it to install? I don't know where the disk for it is, but I never even had to use a disk for it in the first place. Thanks

edit- Ok, the monitor just somehow installed by itself, but I still can't use the right resolutions. I'm using a 19" Widescreen and I can't get it to go to 1440x900, which is the native resolution of the monitor. Any ideas? Also, the auto adjust button isn't working for some reason.

Hello have you reintslled the drives for your graphics card?
Download drive from manufacurers website do the same for the monitor.

My monitor drivers are all up to date, I'll try installing the latest Nvidia drivers I guess. Thanks for the response, I'll let ya know if it works.

Yes go to NVIDIA website and download and install there latest driver,you should then reboot and you should have the NVIDIA control panel.This should enable you to sort out your resolution.

Well, theres only 3 resolutions available, and they only go up to 1152x864. Before when I first hooked up the monitor there were a bunch of other resolutions that weren't widescreen, but those are gone. Why can't I use 1440x900?

You need latest drivers and NVIDIA control panel.

I know, I have the NVIDIA control panel open, and it wont go up to 1440.


I just tested a game to see if I could change the resolution in there, and it won't let me change the aspect ratio to widescreen. It seems like my computer just isn't recognizing the monitor correctly or something.

Have you got advance settings as well as standard?Use advanced.Is this the exact same make and model of monitor as you origonaly had?

Yea it's the same thing. A SyncMaster 941BW. They sent me a refurbished model in exchange for the one that stopped working. Also, nothing seems to be working in the advanced settings.

Hi I think you should redownload the NVIDIA driver this should reinstall the control panel after a reboot.Try Nvidia website.

Ok I just did all of that again, and I'm in the same situation. In the display settings, it has my monitor named as something else. It says its SyncMaster 940T/940B/940Be. So it looks like it installed the wrong monitor somehow, even though I'm using a 941BW. This is annoying
