Hello budgie love, welcome to PCHF.

The only thing remaining is power. Try using different power cables. If he is using an extention block, then disconnect any other equipment he has attached to that block, he could be overloading. If that fails, try using a different block of power.

lol budgie.

OK, I think you'll need to take a step back, check and recheck everything again. Judging by what you have said so far, everything has been ruled out. There's always a logical explaination. If your absolutely certain that he hasn't done something silly, like attach his surge protector to an existing extention, or is this surge protector something he was using before or after the PC was moved? Try using different extention and power cables that you know work to start with, including the VGA cable, and then we can work our way back from there?

My initial thought when reading your first post was that, maybe it was just a co-insidence that when the PC was moved it started to work again, and when moved back it stopped. If it was a co-insidence, then maybe you have a loose graphics card would be my first thought.

lol, it really does sound like the PC is being starved of power at the moment budgie. But if your still having problems after everything is disconnected, including speakers/sub woofer, let me know the spec of the PC, and what is connected where. Also check how many amps each fuse has to offer. You never know, it may even be faulty house wiring.. but I'm just a technician, not an electrician.
