Default Out of Frequency Range Monitor and Driver Problem

I'm having trouble with my monitor and my video card's drivers. I'll put the detailed monitro error message under the details.

I was on my computer and decided to see if I could kick my resolution up a notch, but apparently doing it on the drivers for the video card was not the best idea.

I've manually deleted the files for the driver in safe mode, restored them, switched the jumper, and a combination of those. I've also tried to reinstall the driver on Safe Mode but either the installer program for windows doesn't work in Safe Mode or the error I'm having the installer has to do with something else, it says cant find Detetion Driver or soemthing like that.

I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate on my Intel PC with a ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro on a Dell somewhere around 15" CRT monitor.

Cant Get The monitor menu during this menu.

Error Message:

OUT OF FREQUENCY RANGE

Hi there and welcome to PC Help Forum

I am sure that most techs will have had this happen to them in the past with a CRT monitor..I certainly have. It's basically that your refresh rate is set too high (85Hz) for the monitor. The quickest way to fix this is to borrow an LCD monitor and re-set the refresh rate.

Failing that, go into Safe-Mode and see if you can re-set the refresh rate from there. Start with 60Hz and work your way up...always test each increment as you go.

Alright, I'll try that but im not sure the refresh rate is the problem because it was the resolution I changed that messed it up in the first place.
