Question [Answered]Sony Monitor
My friend has a Sony LCD Monitor PCVA-15XA1 and the connection does not fit to his Sony Vaio Desktop

The end connector for the monitor is quite big compared to the desktop slot behind the PC

Can anyone find any information on this monitor and what card is required with this?


(I figured that it would fit but apparently I was wrong)

I'm not sure what the technical name is but it sounds like your friend's monitor is HD and his port is VGA. An HD port is generally white and VGA is blue.
Both are pictured here:

They make adapters for these that can probably be found at Best Buy/circuit City or other...

so what would i have to get to be able to plug this monitor in? he only has a VGA plug in for his monitor
does he have to buy an HD card like the one above ?

Whoops, sorry, this is what you'd need: NEW DVI to HD15 VGA Video Adapter LCD Panel Monitor - eBay (item 130198235390 end time Feb-18-08 16:48:22 PST)

It changes a DVI port to a HD port. The first one I posted does the opposite

Yeah, but I'm fairly sure that it won't have an HD picture if this is used, though it will work.
