Question [Resolved] Help a noob?

I know a little bit about computers, i just have a question about setting up my monitors. i want to set-up multiple monitors. how can i get my motherboard output to work in addition to my video card? when i hook it up, only the video card shows an image and i just get a black screen on the one hooked up tp the motherboard.

Hi joe, welcome to PCHF! Im not 100% sure, but i dont think it can be done, you have to have a graphics card with dual outputs.

Yeah, Im pretty sure you can. Just plug both into your graphics card at the same time, and install hte drivers, if necessary for the DVI monitor, in windows.

im pretty new to this, so bear with me. go to desktop, right click, click "properties' click on the settings tab, click on the monitor thing, click, "identify" the monitor that shows up as monitor 2, select in the drop down bar, and click "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor"
If this doenst work, I will have to get someone who knows more about dual monitors than me
