Hey all,
This morning I turned my PC on and the following happened..
The image on the monitor would only appear for a fraction of a second then go blank until it refreshed for the next boot up page where the same happend all the way to the desktop.
So it will only show an image for a split second before going blank again..so I had to turn it off again because i couldnt do anything. There was no "signal error" or "no signal" message on the blank screen.
Then i tried again 15 mins or so later and hey presto it worked... well kinda. Now it flickers constantly like an ond CRT set to 40Hz or something... sods law as im writing this its setted and now looks fine

.
However in the last few months it has developed a habit of flickering when the monitor is turned on, bought back from standby etc for a few seconds and then settling. I Initially ignored this as I assumed windows had changed some setting as it tends to do and it wasnt really a big problem for me but now after this mornings events I am thinking the 2 are linked.
My thoughts are that the monitor is developing a fault....as everything else appears to work normally.
The pc specs are ..
Win XP
AMD 3000
512 Mb ram
Radeon X1600 PRO 512 Mb
Sharp 17" LLT17A4 TFT LCD monitor (6 yr old now)
Any Ideas? Is this a common fault with LCD monitors? Ive done a google search but not come up with anything.. couldnt find anything in these forums either (it would help if people put key words in the subject line other than "help I have a problem"

)
Thanks for any help guys.
SV.
