What exactly where you expecting from a 1440x900 Samsung display? most computer monitors have higher resolution then that. My 21 inch pc monitor can go up to 2048x1536.

I'm not exactly sure what you though an HDTV was compared to a computer monitor, but in all honesty its nothing major, except most HDTV's come in much larger sizes then pc monitors.

Are you gaming or watching movies or what? Games run best on a CRT Monitor because you can change the resolution to whatever you want depending on the game and graphical demand.
Movies on the other hand look better on HDTV's because of generally being wide screen and larger picture.
Unless were talking about HD-DVD or BLU-RAY, then, the higher the resolution the better.
