I just added a BenQ FW222. Came with a disk that told Windows what resolution to run it at. Luckily this res was the last option in my video card's ability.

The res won't change automaticlly. If you're running widescreen and have just plugged it in it will still be running at your old pre upgrade res.

Double check on the driver for the monitor. While you're at it see if you can update your video card's drivers, too.

Then have a play with your settings - right click a blank spot of the desktop, right most tab in the box that opens.
