Default [Answered] Weird Monitor Setup Question

(i posted this in op systems by mistake but can't figure how to delete post... so here goes again) - Hi, I wish to set up a monitor configuration between 2 comps. I have a desktop connected to a 22" CRT. I also run a laptop that I want to connect to the 22" CRT but I want to run this in dual view mode (CRT and Laptop screen independant).
Does such a thing as a VGA hub exist where I could hook everything up to the hub and switch between computers without having to constantly disconnect/connect VGA cables???? Or is there another way this can be done???

Hello autococ, welcome to PCHF.

Yes there is, it's called a KVM switch. For example: Amazon.co.uk: Belkin Omniview 2-Port KVM Switch with Built-In Cabling, USB: Electronics & Photo

KVM switches vary, all of them will have VGA, some will also have PS/2, others USB, and some even audio. They are relitevely cheap. There is a button on the switch itself you can switch between PC's. If you have a keyboard connected, most will switch by tapping the [Scroll Lock] key twice.

hope this makes sense
Thanks

Yep, everything will be the same, except, instead of pulling out one VGA cable for another, you can just press a single button instead.
