Does your motherboard have a VGA port that you could try. If it does, try putting it in there and see if that problem exists while using VGA as well. Then, we will know if it is the monitor or graphics card.

Thanks,
Adam

Marneros, I have read back and refreshed my memory about your problem. I have service allot of monitors over the years but retired before the LCD monitors came into fashion. Were your monitor a CRT type I could conclude that you either have a bad filter cap or bad solder connection in the shielding somewhere. Those lines are caused by the AC current causing interference in the video circuit. In this case I am going to go out on a limb and assume the basics are the same, If not I'm truely sorry, But my advice would be to let a tech look at your monitor. What you have told us indicates mechanical problems and without tools, knowledge of the trade and schematics for the monitor it seems you have few choices. Remember though, I am not the last word nor the best. Someone may have more insight and experience than I. Forgive me and good luck...
