Default The Almighty Flicker

Hello, first post here, stumbled across what appears like a rather handy website and hey, maybe it'll help me out..

A while back, playing Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms, the screen would occasionally show flickering horizontal lines from top to bottom of the screen, with the occasional black flicker that lasts about a second. More recently, it has somehow crawled out of the game and now is constantly happening to my screen on the desktop itself, whereas before it was only part of the game.

Its really rather annoying- turning off the monitor and back on again eliminates it for a second, but as soon as I start doing things again it comes back. I've tried playing with the refresh rate, but setting it higher only makes the flickers more frequent and persistent! Argh, this is annoying me, please please do help!

Welcome to PC Help Forum.

Have you overclocked your graphics card? What are the temps of the graphics card during a game of MEII ? What make of graphics card do you have, that way we can link you to a tool to measure the temps.
