the display on my monitor is shrinking..the sides close in..i am sending an image of it. hope it can be seen. thanks.

Sorry for the delay.

You have a CRT style monitor yes? I believe what the problem is is that your actual cathode ray tube is losing its life. It is time to get a new monitor

Have you tried all the usual stuff? Increasing the horizontal/vertical size on the monitor menu? Degaussing (I think that's what it's called)? Auto resize if it has the option?

that could be it. try going into the monitor menu (usually press menu on a button* and adjust the horizontal size and position. that should help
