Thumbs up [Information] Picking Out a New LCD

With all the new LCD monitors coming out some people can get overloaded with options..
My philosophy is the less it has the better it will be..

Now with that said lets get into the details

You will want an LCD with less than a 5ms response time. But you might think that is what you should just look for. Not correct. As gamers you want your games to look good as well without flicker. Just the same as people that use there pc's to watch movies you will also want a very high contrast ratio. This is one of the most important things on an LCD.

Go no less than 2000:1 ratio..You might end up spending an extra 20 bucks on it but it will be 200 times better than a regular 1000:1 contrast ratio..
What this will do is make things so much crisper and show the contrasts not only between black and white but between all Primary colors.
For example I have an HDTV with a contrast ratio of 8000:1 and some others have as low as 2000:1 on an HDTV.. That is the biggest difference between t.v's as well as your LCD monitors. As well as your response time..

Another example is Samsungs newer LCD monitor for pc's. It has a 4000:1 ratio and is breathtaking and actually cost only 11 bucks more than the 1000:1 ratio..

If you can go into the store when getting one, what you want to do is Turn off the monitor.. You want to see how black the screen is. Yes you may say all of them are black when you turn them off but some of them are almost a grayish black..The blacker the screen is when you turn it off the crisper your picture will be..

Hope you take this to heart when purchasing your next monitor..
