Default Expand Desktop

4020CDT Toshiba with 98SE, I have a 2nd monitor KDS VS-7i and I am trying to expand the desktop. I've gone into the display settings but where it the check mark to expand the desktop is I can't click because it is blocked out. I have also tried installing it in add new hardware and it still won't work. So am I doing some thing wrong or is 98 not reconizing it?

Doesn't that graphics card only have one VGA port? How are you connecting 2 monitors to the card?

Yes it only has 1 port but i am using the screen that is part of the laptop and another monitor to plug in to expand the desktop. Basically what i want to do is pull a program window up say like IM and still be able to see it while on the other screen have a full internet explorer page up and view it at the same time. If that make sence.
