Hi there!

Is it 'blurry' before windows starts or is it just after windows has booted? If it is just 'blurry' after windows has booted it may just be a driver issue.

If the issue happens all the time it is most likely the graphics card, which as you say the motherboard would correct this, the first thing I would try in the mean time would be to reseat the graphics card [Open the case with the PC switched off, identify your graphics card and remove it and then put it back in ensuring it is correctly seated]

Hope this helps.

i tried that with no luck i have a few older graphics cards but they seem to be the same, the other monitor i have downstairs has a video mode and text mode. the one upstairs which has'nt but then when i put the tower with the problem it is still blurry so do you think it is more then likely the graphics or motherboard.
