This problem is really getting annoying. Every 10 seconds to a minute, my monitor will make a spark noise, and then my monitor flickers.

It's annoying.

Way to fix it? My cables are plugged in fine, but I'll double-check..

Spectre, if it's internal, you won't be able to fix this yourself, but see if you can find out where the spark is coming from. In most cases it's normally the power cable or the socket itself. Try using a different power cable.

Hi, I'm not a pc person by any stretch of the imagination. But I have had this problem too. I called a PC repair shop here and they said it was the Fly Back. Whatever that may be and wanted 300 and some odd dollars to order a new one.

Lightening hit our regular TV and I had to have the power something fixed in it. 30.00. While the TV repairman had the back off the TV I saw nasty dust. Pretty thick. So I thought what the hay. I blew out the back of my monitor and no more flickers, sizzles etc. Thats been a year now. Just thought I might give you my story. I'm on that monitor now.

Lol thanks Starwalker.

Just last night, though, the monitor died. :\

I turned it on, tried to dust it out, then it started flickering like mad. Haha.

It's okay, though. It was a real cheap monitor.

lol Spectre, prob not the best idea to dust it whilst it was on, but never mind, I hope you gave it a good berial. RIP CRT monitor, you may have been a little fat, but you have served Spectre well. Now he must go and buy a nice skinny TFT monitor, with no silly tubes, and better looking.
