Nope just a regular lcd monitor. No special softwares. Only has an analog input too.
Acoording to the model number in your first post-- it may be a touch-screen

I'm pretty sure it isn't. I must've given the wrong model.

That makes it more likely, the good news is its either a naffed power cord/plug or the dry joint is probably located near the power socket.
I'm pretty sure it's not the cable. My friend said that he tried a different cable and it still did the same thing. What would I be looking for if it was a dry joint?

Hello,

My name is Richard; I am part of the Dell Online Community Outreach group here in Round Rock, Texas. I want to make a quick comment that before you try to fix a monitor, on your own, check if it is still under warranty. You can call 1-800-822-8965, and provide the tech support representative the service tag and they can check that for you.

If the monitor is out of warranty and you try to fix it. Please make sure a professional assist you with that as it can be dangerous. Dell does not repair monitors we just replace them as it is saver and faster.

Contact me at customer_advocate@dell.com if you need further assistance, place attention Richard in the subject line.

Regards,
Richard B
