Hey all,

I am wondering is it possible to use 2 monitors simultaneously.
For example, monitor A to play games, and monitor B to watch DVDs.
I have the tendercy to do 2 things at the same time, and I just have to ask before I buy a new monitor.

Any help is appreciated and thanks again.

Hi Conggo,

Welcome to PCHF.

Yes this is possible, but you will need a very powerful graphics card to handle both DVD and Gaming at the same time without any lag. Either two seperate graphics cards or a graphics card such as NVidia which has two VGA outputs. What types of games do you intend to play?

I know you can do this, but you need to get a second Video card. I looked this up last year for my mil, but we decided to do a toggle switch instead and attach both towers too one monitor. Or you can get a video card with 2, 3 or more outputs. Good luck.

The only problem with running two monitors from the same PC, is that when your playing games, you won't have the facility to access your video controls or use the second screen. Also, the resolution of the second screen (even if using two seperate cards) will alter depending on the resolution of the game. I hope that makes sense.

I see. Yeah it makes sense because I was wondering the same thing. Eventhough my graphic card has 2 output but the output data will be the same. So my best bet will to use 2 towers with only one monitor. My doubts has been cleared.

Thanks guys.
