Default PC to HDTV help!

I have recnetly bought a whole new PC, so i have decided to use my old one as a media centre and plug it into my HDTV. It is runing windows XP and is connected to my PANASONIC TX32LXD60 via a DVI-HDMI lead from the DVI output on my Radeon 9800 pro. I have enabled the HDTV settings in ATI catalyst control and set the resolution to 720p.

However, although the resolution is set to the tv's native resolution the 4 sides of the image are cut off i.e my task bar and the top, left and far right sides are not visible. I was wondering if anyone new of any way to fix this problem or if there is anyway to change the geometry of the image displayed like you would using the OS on a pc monitor as my tv does not allow you to do this.

Any help would be very greatly appreciated... thanks
