Edit: Reference thread LGW
I am having the exact same problem...all was working well on Saturday night, switched off, rebooted Sunday and nothing....

Same "no signal" message from the monitor. I have checked Monitor, GFX, RAM and HDD, FDD with another machine and no there's no probs with my hardware....after reading advice elsewhere I bought a new Mobo and have spent the day building that...but still nothing! Am getting really quite wound up and stressed out now!

Also I noticed that when I was trying to boot up on Sunday morning that the leds on both my optical drives were remaining on and both drives sounded as they were constantly trying to engage, like they were reading the scratch on a damaged cd.

Currently I only have the bare minimum hardware installed, having removed all PCI cards, HDD, FDD and optical drives, still not able to boot up!

Additionally all IDE cables have been replaced...

Am i faced with the worryingly expensive fact that my CPU has died?

Hey Morpheus,

Welcome to PCHF. We have a great team of techs here, but it can get really confusing if we are giving advice for more than one problem. I am going to move you to your own thread, and call it Morpheus' Monitor Woes.

We'll start troubleshooting your issue from there.

TTFN

LGW

That's the ONLY kind of welcome given here unkess there is VERY good reason for otherwise... and we'd probably do it even then.

Especially LGW

That's what immediately attracted me to this place-- the welcome-- and the fast responses....there's nothing worse than a confused PC.

Besides rudeness/snobbyness
