Default Horizontal lines flickering

Hello, i have recently bought and built a new PC. I have setup my 19" LCD monitor and set the resolution to 1440 x 900. Its been ok unti recently some horizontal lines have been appearing that take up the whole width of the screen, these are very faint and can only be seen if you concentrate on the screen, they flicker up and down.

This only happens on this resolution, when i set my monitor to the others, the lines dissapear

This has only started happening recently, anybody got any ideaS on what the problem could be?

Thanks, Jonathan

Hey jon,

Welcome to PCHF.

This is a bit of an odd resolution, do you have a widescreen monitor? Try changing the refresh rate of the screen. Go to My Computer, followed by Control Panel, Display, Settings tab, Advanced, Monitor tab. Refresh rate does vary between screens, however it should normally be between 60-75hz.

Horizontal lines, however faint, are clearly not part of the "deal" - especially at recommended resolution. As you have stated, this is a new PC etc so following on from your comment
ive tried everything, and still nothing works
I would suggest talking to the manufacturer about a replacement.
